About Victor, NY The Village of Victor was incorporated in 1879 and quickly became the center for commerce and manufacturing. Its location along several transportation routes including two Great Lakes and three early railroads made Victor a hub for produce to be shipped throughout the country. Our central business district reflects the architecture from the past era blended with new development and it houses many unique retail shopping, financial, and dining establishments.Close to downtown you can walk through history and experience the Valentown Museum which has been preserved as the country’s first “mall”. Across from the museum is Eastview Mall, the area’s largest shopping mall with over 180 stores and restaurants. Overlooking Victor you’ll find Ganondagan, once a bustling Seneca Native American village, and New York State’s only park dedicated to the history and culture of Native Americans. Take a short drive and you’ll find high-tech research, development, and manufacturing facilities with companies ranging from telecommunications to supply chain and logistics. Victor is home to the World Headquarters of Constellation Brands, the largest wine company in the world. Our 176-acre Victor School District campus is recognized by New York State and nationally for providing outstanding public education. In close proximity are recognized colleges such as the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology St. John Fisher College, SUNY at Geneseo, Finger Lakes Community College, and Monroe Community College. Victor maintains nine parks throughout the area, a 43-mile network of trails connecting to other Finger Lakes trails, and five public and private golf courses. The Victor Chamber of Commerce supports the community as it looks to the future with the goals of maintaining economic development while preserving both its rural and rich heritage.
